Richard Goh is a clinical member and Registered Counsellor of the Singapore Association for Counselling. He is trained in several therapeutic modalities and adopts an intuitive and empathic approach integrating various therapies to effectively meet the unique needs of his clients.
He is passionate and experienced in counselling troubled individuals, couples and families in distress. He provides counselling in healing relationships, first within self and then with each other in the family. He has Clinical Practicum Training in the US based Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses this evidence-based approach in his therapeutic work with couples where appropriate. He brings couples torn asunder by an extramarital affair through a process that offers hope and healing in dealing with the betrayal. For couples preparing for marriage, Richard offers a Relationship Checkup Tool that provides detailed clinical feedback and suggestions on the strengths and challenges of their relationships. This is followed by specific recommendations and counselling interventions to prepare and enrich the couples commitment to each other. He guides couples in a programme that will enhance their intimacy, communication, conflict management and on creating shared goals for their life together.
Richard conducts workshops and seminars for multi-national corporations, government bodies and statutory boards in the areas of effective communication, interpersonal skills, handling difficult high-stakes conversations and influencing change. He draws on his prior extensive corporate experience to help clients adapt to change and achieve peak performance at work. He brings his wide management experiences and appreciation of work-life balance needs into his counselling work with professionals and their families.
